View Full Version : Optimal Fuel Injection pump timing

Have a 1995 K20 6.5 td, w/221,xxx miles. Injection pump replaced under warranty ~50,xxx, Boost/after turbo pyro/trans.temp. pillar post gauges, vacuum pump went bad, replaced w/turbo master, Heath maxi-tork tow eprom, 3.5" exhaust lost Kitty and muffler (oops), new injectors and glows about 200,000, dual thermostats and hi po water pump ~210,xxx,

wednesday have appointment with mechanic, I want to know what I should look forward to hearing what the timing is at or can be adjusted to. truck is used for farm use. tows hay and straw from field to customers or barn. loaded wagon can be 6000#, sometimes pull doubles so ~#12,000 (20mph)thanks for your support.

You cannot adjust the timing. What you want to do is position the pump so that when you perform the "TDC offset learn" procedure, the value learned is between about -1.6 and -1.95.
