I have a new VW with a turbo diesel...apprently they have some pump issues which may be due to how dry the new ULSD fuel is....anyway I found this article while doing research to find the best additive to lube my pump.

I figure it my be good info for those of us who want our DS-4's to keep clickin' away also.

Figures...I buy 2 vehicles with pump issues....none too smart.

Here is the article...let me know what you think.

I'm sure they didnt test every manufacturer,,,I thought the results were real interesting seeing as I use the Lucas additive and Power Service....why bother?

I use Power Up for diesels. I don't know what the specks are but I know my mileage is significantly improved when I use it as well as a slight power improvement. $2.00 per 100 liter fill. (3.73 liter = 1 U.S. gallon)

I have been using the Stanadyne and when I cannot get to the supplier, Amsoil. No wonder I needed a new IP after only 90K of use. That was my third pump, put on at 110,000 miles by the dealer just before the warranty ran out on the PMD issue.

Guess I'll switch.

I found a guy in Texas who sells 5 gallon cubes of 100% high quality bio....I cant get it around here in small quantities...everybody wants me to buy 10,000 gallons!

I figured to make 2 percent bio that would be about 2.5 quarts per fill up on the big truck (assuming 30 gallons)... a little pricey..would only last 8 fills..

I'm going to try the XPD...not as good as 2% bio...but more cost efficient and meets the strict spec as well.
