i have a 93 k1500 that i swaped in a 6.5 for a bad 6.2 and now the tranny is bad. its a 4l60E and my question is can i replace it with a 4l60E out of a gasser?

Complicated question, but YES you can, with some mods.

The tranny must be a V8 model and not from a V6 powered rig.

You must change the converter to a diesel one (lower stall speed)

While the tranny is out, I would recommend a shift kit be installed.

The tranny should work fine as the sensors and such in the tranny (Input and output speed) will not know whats up front and the ECM will send the proper signals.

Now be sure your replacement tranny has the proper plug on it as there have been changes along the way. (year models)

Also some changes were made in the shift contols (cable vs direct link)

As long as these items are tended to, it should be fine.

Now the 4L60E was never used with a 6.5 Turbo, but it should be fine with a 6.5 NA engine.
