How does the fuel temperture get so hot.
I see 120-135 degrees on my laptop data reader.
Is this correct,
If so, does the fuel in the tank get this hot, or does the IP pump run this hot?????

whatnot

I think most of it comes from the fuel filter location.
Did you watch the temp climb after shutting the engine off?

That is why a fuel cooler in the tank-return line can be necessary, as on the Dmax.

Comes from radiated, transfer thru timing cover, and hydraulic action to produce injection pressures.

Those figures are normal for around 85deg ambient.
If the fuel temp in the tank approaches that, and it does with low fuel levels, fuel temps in the pump climb accordingly.

GMTD If the fuel was cooler , would the engine
run any better....?Don't have a PMD to be concerned about cooling ., I now have a RMD ( Remote Mounted Driver )
