How would a Military 6.2 do in a 13,000lb truck with 6.17 gears? Transmission is a Th400 and the tires are 40 inchers. I have a 6.2 going into the truck to replace the old gas sucking 455 olds engine. I don't plan on driving anything over 55mph, and I am not looking to do major towing or hauling. She'll be an asphalt queen! I understand this is at the upper end of the 6.2's weight limits, but I figure the 6.17 gears will do most of the work. :D

Back in the hay day of the 6.2 they were installed in class A motor homes and did ok

With the 6.17 gears it should be OK even with the 40 inch tires. Its not going to lite the world on fire but if the engine is in good shape and the injectors and the IP are in top shape it will do OK.

Have fun
