GMC 2500 4WD Motor Mounts

Does anybody know any tricks for raising the 6.5 TD engine enough to replace the motor mounts. We've taken loose the 4WD diff, pulled the starter, etc., but can't raise the engine enough to get at the motor mounts? Any suggestions? Thanks. TOM

Any update? What mounts you going to use? My advice would be GM or energy Suspension. For sure NOT a generic auto parts version.

you need an arm and wrist that can rotate 360 degrees and bend at multiple points...

aint it fun!!

I used a multitude of tools...ratchet wrenches that swivel and offset got me thru it....not unscathed however!

Drop the front diff out and that should give you all the room you need. I just did mine and having the solid axle made it very easy.
