View Full Version : Help with shifting 6.5 PLEASE

I just replaced my 1999 6.5 engine with a mechanical inj. pump military engine.
The pedal pot is hooked up parallel to the cable linkage, but that did not help.
I suspect that I need to tie the camshaft sensor on the new engine to the computer so it will read RPM and shift. I also get a 1643 "engine rpm out error code."
Any ideas will help, Thanks, Randy

The engine speed sensor is off the tranny on these.

Getting the 4L80E working well with the DB2 pump can be a challenge.

The trick is to get the 92-93 style TPS switch tied in with the Pedal position sensor leads that feed from the middle pot on the PPS

Dick Wells here has got a Burb working fairly well.

Give Dick a shout (PM) and see if he can advise you.
