Anybody changed oil cooler lines lately? I have to replace asap. I am not familiar with the fitting coming out of the block - is this a pressure fitting with some kind of snap ring? If anybody can give me idiots instructions I'd appreciate. It ain't exactly in an easy place to get to. I've got the front connections out ok - pretty much dummy proof. Lots of good performance stuff here. I am still running stock, except for KN filter, but will start with exhaust replacement on a 98 CC 4wd.

Lue Specialist has replacement oil cooler lines which are much better than stock and they won't leak.

The block fittings use o-rings to seal the connection. There is a small steel spring clip that holds the line to the fitting. Simply remove the clip and the line will pull right out of the block fitting.

Just replaced mine the other week. ordered them from Greg at Lubespecialist. they are great! no leaks after i did it. they are a flexable hose from start to finish so easy to move around. if yu have a 4X4 then a little more dificult to replace by yourself but they seem to be way better then the original lines from GM.

Yep, I got a set from Greg also. They seem to be well made. I haven't had a chance to use them yet, but wish I had them on before mine connector failed a few months ago.

Thanks for the help. Got the lubespec lines, like the fittings, and seals; also have a set of new stock I could use. Have a little issue with all soft lines by manifold outlet. Gets pretty hot there. Any issue with heat on those if you've used them?

Flintspear--Agree potential prob, no one reported difficulties. Good practice to support hoses along route. Can either buy proprietary heat/abrasion shielding from a speed shop, or could fashion your own by gluing fibreglass cloth with RTV around hose(min 2-layer), then cover with aluminum foil for fanatic touch...

I used an old welding cable cover. Having a welding shop helps to locate this stuff! :D Anyways the cover is rated to 600F with a 900f burn through. I also supported the ;ines and kept them away from potential problem. I don't think it would ever be a problem anyways but every little bit helps! ;)

when i installed mine i ran there where the stock lines where located. there is plenty of room away from the manifold. i zip tied them to the original holding bracket to keep them inplace and then again at the bumper/skidplate.
these lines are designed to handle the heat from the oil and engine so not really concerned with heat problems unless right against the manifold. they should be able to andle the heat much better then the original lines..

I replaced mine with lines I got fromn Greg....Thanks Greg nice stuff. Mine had a small leak in one of the lines not the fitting. (factory) Glad I did the better lines.

I got my new lines from Greg last week. I'm just waiting for a 40*+ day to install them.

Can you get a short oil cooler line replacement,
Just out and back in, eliminating the oil cooler in front.

I have dual mounted remote oil filters and was considering one of those big fan cooled oil cooler units under the truck. I was hoping the reduced heat load would help the Radiator run cooler.

I would also like to keep the oil temp below 200Deg.
