I am looking at 2 injection pumps for a 6.5 td wich I am building a 6.2 with 6.5 td heads planning on using a banks turbo with an intercooler I am looking at a db2831-4911 wich I am curently running and today I looked at a db2831-5209 I noticed on the tag it said model no. and rpm so is it that all db2831s have the 831 plunger and that the 4911 or 5209 is the max rpm for the pump?

I did just find out that db is the series of the pump 2 is the number of plungers in the pump and 29 or 31 is the plunger size still looking in to the rpm and fuel rate and pop pressures

Both pumps are mechanically the same. The 4911 pump is the OEM for GM trucks, delivered for on-highway use, 1992+. IIRC, the 5209 pump is the 1995+ military (HMMWV) pump, and will be 24V, if not converted (easy). The calibrations should be the same, or similar, or adjustable. Both are good (desirable) pumps, with the 5209 being better due to HD internal parts. A 4911 pump can be built to the same spec with the same parts as the military version. When it comes down to it, much depends on the condition of the pumps, and the cost. One may offset the other. If it were me, and both pumps were good, I'd grab both for the right price (sorry, pack-rat nature).
