What's up with my wipers?

The delay was not working and the wipers would not shut off unless I bumped the switch all the way to the left. So I got a new switch, same as the old, and now the wipers will turn off but the delay still will not work. Any ideas? I would have guessed that the delay would be controlled by the switch, but apparently not. Can it be the motors?

Usually, the "park" switch in the motor will cause this. Often, removal of the cover, cleaning and regreasing of the contacts will cure it. Blast it with electrical contact cleaner (not brake cleaner), then use dielectric grease on the contacts and any moving parts once dry.

If that checks out, and still no park/delay, it may be the delay module. Mid 80's module is located on the underside of the column, behind the knee trim. About the size of a deck of cards. Plug 'n play. I think it was the same for 84, perhaps 83.

If none of the above works, it's probably the motor assy. The most costly of the bunch. Good luck.
