egr valve testing

I'm wondering if anyone can help me out on testing the egr valve for a 2003 6.6 Duramax.

Generally, if a problem exists with the LB7 EGR valve, a MAF trouble code will appear. Do you suspect a problem with the valve? What are the symptoms?
