I have a 1994 6,5l turbo diesel VIN S with a non connected EGR valve.
The rubberhose from EGR Vent Valve Solenoid is blocked with a screw.

The car pass the emissiontest without problem.

Do I gain something by getting EGR working again ?

If you passed the emission inspection, there is NO advantage gained by enabling the EGR. If not for laws and emission tests, none of my vehicles, past or present, would have functional EGR.

I would leave the hose disconnected and the screw in the end of it. If the EGR valve is NOT open all should be OK.

I have never liked EGR valves, they only cause/lead to problems in my opinion.

To get the best gain from here you would replace the intake with a non EGR unit and remove the hardware. The exhaust still crosses over in the bottom of the intake even if the EGR valve is closed AND if the upper to lower tower gasket leaks you will have continuous EGR flow albeit quite little.
