Greetings

Finding anything for these vehicles is a lesson in keyword web searching. I'm currently looking for an excellent 6.6 (LLY) diesel repair manual. Where there significant changes to the engine between 2007 and 2012 ? if not would the 2012 Sierra 3500 (DIESEL) repair manual be the way to go.
I can buy gas repair manuals all day long, finding Diesel specific info is near impossible.
Just need a manual in my corner to decide on whats DIY and what is going to require bending over at the repair shop!!!
Best regards

For Diesel engine/transmission repair information, most is the same between the light and medium duty trucks. There are subtle differences that will occur, but they can be easily identified and managed. Much of it has been discussed in the GM Medium-Duty Forum (http://www.thedieselpageforums.com/tdpforum/forumdisplay.php?f=10).

For a model/line specific repair manual, www.helminc.com (http://www.helminc.com) (Helm) offers the full set of manuals commonly used in dealer shops. They list the paper manual (no CD-ROM) for the 2007 Topkick (http://www.helminc.com/helm/Result.asp?Style=helm&Mfg=GMC&Make=GMC&Model=TOPK&Year=2007&Category=1&Keyword=&Module=&selected_media=) for $200.

Having never taken my truck to a shop for less than $300, I humbly submit that $200 is cheap and will be paid for with the first real repair.

That said, an online alldatadiy subscription is available for way less.

I like and use Alldata, but they don't list for the MD's, that I could find (I looked this morning). His question and need is specific to the Topkick, so the info he needs won't likely be covered there. It would be fine for general engine/tranny stuff, but MD specific info would be lacking.
