shuts off or stalls when shifting

98 6.5 K1500 235K IP 1 year old FSD relocated under bumper. Acted strange last week with a surge when putting in reverse one time then started shutting off when stopped and putting in reverse. Surge made me thing it was a PMD so changed with new D-tech. Same thing this morning. Started fine, backed out of driveway, drove to work (30 mi ) and when shifting into reverse to back in spot stalled. Restarts right up but when shifting into reverse will stall twice then run fine. Only seems to stall when shifting gears at column shift. No problems while driving and turning, only from stop to reverse.

Any ideas?

Found a chafed wire in the column. When shifting it moved and shut truck off. Must have gotten disturbed when changed pitman arm 2 weeks earlier
