I have talked to my dealer and Helm. The manual set for my 94 TD Suburban is out of stock. They can't tell me if it will be a week or a year before they have more! Crazy.

Does anyone have thoughts on where to get on sooner? I will get one eventually, but is there an alternative that is ok? I need to dig in to some engine work soon on a new to me truck and would like the reference.

TIA
Eric

Some additional sources at the following thread, found via 'search' for "manuals":
http://forum.thedieselpage.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=006001 .

'95 is very close '94 mechanically, but are many wire harness differences. These are both OBDI, the first years of electronic engine controls of the GM light diesel. So one option would be use a combo of a '95 Helm manual, with www.alldata.com (http://www.alldata.com) for wiring particulars....

I have an extra 1992 Helms/GM Unit Repair Manual

This is NOT the service manual, it deals with components (including the 6.5TD) as if removed from vehicle, but otherwise has full mechanical info and dissassembly/reassembly info.
