View Full Version : 33s on a 2500 Suburban?
Unexpectedly, I just purchased a 2000 Suburban, 2500 4x4. Right before I bought the 2000, I had new 285/75/r16s (33") put on my '83. I'd like to put the new tires on the 2000 suburban. I can get leveling kit for the front end and I have been told this will allow the 33s to fit.
Anyone done this? Good, bad, or other? Would you post a pic?
Thanks

I've got 285/75R16's on my '93 K2500 without any problems. Two disclaimers, though. First is that I have a snowplow frame on it and the front bumper is pushed forward because of that. I have a feeling that might make a minor difference to things. Second thing is that I bought the truck used, so although it did not have oversize tires on it when I bought it, I have no idea if the PO did anything with the torsion bars. There is no lift or leveling kit on it, though.
My 99 (Old body style) K2500 Suburban fits the 285/75R16's on stock rims without a problem.
With 4.10 gears it helped the truck.
Thanks for the info. Just got the leveling kit installed and it helped enough to put the 33s on. I am a little worried about the loss in gearing from the 30s to the 33s though. I bought the 2000 to pull a trailer and want to keep it pulling like it should. And what about the electronic transmissions-what effect do bigger tires have on those?
