Hi, I seem to have a problem with my right hand door mirror demist.
I know it is on the same relay and fuse as opposite one. so I do not damage anything experimenting, can someone tell me how to get inside the mirror,?
I do not use these very much at all, so I dont think it is wear and tear, more like underuse.
Truck is 2500HD Duramax, ext Cab, 2002

Easy to get into and remove, if necessary.
Pull off the "shark fin" on the inside. It just pops off, but try to keep a straight pull, as the tabs can break. Inside are 3 nuts that hold the mirror on, and the electrical connector. You may have to remove the foam insulation plug. That's it.
If you can verify power to the connector, also check the resistance of the heating element (if it shows any resistance, it's probably good). If you have a service manual, it will show the connector view, and also the ohm value for the element. If you don't have the manual, I can look it up later.

Many thanks for that, I will try to figure it out. It is always a little risky over here due to not many garages capable of tackiling things, and if it goes wrong, I am in trouble as replacements take a while.
Happy New Year
