I've been using my Tahoe more and more not only as a daily driver, but also as mild off-road rig. I typically will take the rig off the beaten path for around 3 days at a time, traveling forest roads and camping in God's creation. Some call this type of travel "expedition travel" or "overlanding."

To that end, to make the Tahoe more capable, I recently bought a new set of tires and wheels. I've never had anything this aggressive on a daily driver before, but I'm really digging it!

I got a set of Kenda Klever M'T's in size 285/75R16 mounted on Toyota steel wheels. I think the rig has a whole new attitude now.

I've been four wheeling with my Jeep Wrangler TJ for several years, but I'm really getting used to the casual off roading my Tahoe affords.

Lookin real good.

I have wanted a 2 door Tahoe diesel for years, but they are sooooo scarce.

Rig looks great with the "new attitude"

I currently own an 89 K5 blazer, which is certainly similar in size and capability, but the GMT 400 style and comfort are far nicer.

Had a chance a while back at getting one, but the rig was pretty well thrashed.

The short wheel base and tight turning radius makes these little rigs very easy to manage in the bush as well.

I fell in love with the K Blazer back in 73 and have owned several over the years.

Had a 75 then an 82 diesel then an 84 diesel and then the 89 gasser I have now.

Just can't beat the big SUV feel without the full wheelbase size.

I keep hoping that a two door Tahoe/Yukon will follow me home some day, but ???????????????

I have a set of 285/75R16 BFG ATs on my pickup. They seem to be a pretty good size for the truck and I'm pretty pleased with them.

Took a bit of trial and error to get a good tire pressure for them. Initially the shop had too much air in them and they were wearing down the center. Did the wet tire trick to see what was actually touching ground and adjusted accordingly until I got contact the whole way across.

And I agree with Missy - the two door Tahoe/Yukon is a great find!

Took the Tahoe out on a trip to explore some of the "Natural State:"

There's nothing like mud on the tires. Someone should write a song about that......

Were there any fish in that pound?

Were there any fish in that pound?

If there were, I couldn't catch any! :(

I'm glad to see you guys use your off roaders, "off road". Nothing worse then listening to big mudder tires whining on a vehicle with an 8" lift, that never once has seen dirt, never mind mud. Your vehicle looks good in nature "RV".

Thanks, I agree. I can't stand lifted trucks that never see anything but pavement. I really dig vehicles that are built for a real purpose and are actually used.
