View Full Version : Valve Stem Extensions
Can anyone recommend a a good valve stem extension for the inside wheel of a 2012 3500 HD dually? Ones that came on the truck let me check air pressure, but cannot inflate thru them. Removing them and then putting them back is a real pain.
You can buy a pair of nickle plated two inch extenders for $10.99 or a pair of three inch extenders for $15.99 at Camping World.

In my limited experience, valve stem extentions are the best air leak you can buy!!
I didn't have any luck at all with them, I eventually opted for the solid valve stems that don't wiggle around like the 1/2 rubber 1/2 brass stock stems, and I bought a 2-headed air pressure gauge.

I agree,i'v seen more tires ruined because of the valve extensions. This is coming from 15 yrs of having a garage on the Alaska Highway.
A lot of the time the rims were screwed as well.I would never have them.I used to find just the right bends to put in a tire guage for the different makes of duals.Same with the filler.

Checking pressure or adding air isn't the dificule part. Putting your hand in thru the slot in the rim to get the inside valve cap on and off is what is a pain. Anyone found a solution for that.

Hi Johnny
Go to a truck stop and check there. There is a tool made just for that,it's about 10" long with a rubber cup on one end to unscrew valve caps on the inside dual.
