Howdy
My 1984 6.2 has had the EGR system removed. The EPR valve is still in place with no vac to it. What position is it in with no vac? It still moves freely so its not stuck. Just haven't gotten around to removing it. Probably will happen when I replace the intake with dual plane non-egr.
Thanks!

It should default to open, but as they get old, they just flap around, rattle and get very annoying until you realize what's making that racket. When you get in there, remove the butterfly and shaft, and install short carriage bolts, inside-out, to plug the shaft holes (minimal restriction, and they won't leak).

I realize modifying an emission system isn't exactly the right thing to do, but the parts are no longer available, and the only replacements are other worn out parts. On your 84, EGR performance is never monitored, only the presence of the electrical components and the state of activation. When your remaining EGR system fails, if it hasn't already, you'll have similar difficulty sourcing parts, and similar solutions may be required.

I have already float tested the EGR valve. It must have been bad as it sank(the good ones float in water) I made a machined "test plate" to cover the port inside the manifold. The new manifold(non EGR) is waiting a rainy day to instal
Thanks for the INFO!!!!

Yep. I love the float test. Never fails.
