The older Chevy trucks(1972-1990???) had a small metal reinforcement plate in the front inner fender. It has three bolts in it that tie the outer fender to the inner and who knowswhat else. Anyways...if you have ever owned one of these trucks you know that the plate was not sealed properly to the fender and moisture/RUST would build up behind the plate and eat it's way into the inner fender...by the time the plate itself showed some rust it was a inner fender hole about 4inches large. My question after all this rambling is.....Does anyone know where I can get these plates new? Or what the real term is for them...
I am replaceing mine and sealing them before they get gone...
Thanks!
You should be able to get those from www.lmctruck.com

Thanks...but no luck with out a name for the part as they do not seem to show up on a standerd body part blow-up.
Any other ideas...?
Take a good piccy and post it here, I will do some snooping.
Now, the K5 went through several changes from 72-91
The 72 was a totally different body
73-80 were pretty much the same
IIRC the 81-91 had basically the same sheet metal
Get us a piccy of the part.

brace or bracket from inner fender of 1984 blazer, arrows indicate bolts, line is the outline of the brace. the picture is taken from on top of the tire looking back on the passenger side. Edge of the fender can be seen on the left side of the picture.
