The 4L80E is great, but with 4.10's needed for towing the cruise RPM's are high.

Well GM is releasing a 6L80 trany six gears two are OD I hope it will fit behind a 6.5TD.

"The engines are backed by proven Hydra-Matic electronically controlled automatic transmissions, including a new 6L80 six-speed that is matched with the 6.2L engine.
The six-speed automatic has a wide, 6.04:1 overall ratio

Great if a controller can be had to retrofit it to truck w/its autotrac I'd be inline now.

I'm having problems getting answers about a few aftermarket tranny controllers (4L80e), mainly if they can be retrofitted to my burb which has autotrac?

With my current combo lockup is the issue, so thinking going back to 3.73 to correct lockup issues.

Even Gear Venders does not support the AutoTrac.

On my truck,to go with 3:73. Could I just change the ring and pinon? Use to tow a 30' camper but now a days see's very little towing a much more interstate speeds. I'll get 15mpg and would like to do better. Bed rail tool box's,ladder rack and in bed box makes truck heavey. Not at all areo when cutting through the air. 70 mph will net 2300 rpm. Would like to see 2000 or less.
