Hi, my 01 savana started to pressurize the cooling system so I couldn't put it off any longer. I pulled the heads and found a little erozion on right deck, fixed that up and decided to replace valve stem seals- good decision they were cooked. While I had the valves out I noticed the exhaust valve faces weren't perfect, might as well fix that now too! My regular machine shop couldn't do the job because of christmas, so I found a small shop that does a lot of race engine work that would do it before christmas- got the heads back for new years, oh well wasnt looking forward to assy. I now have noticed the valves were not topped and are at different heights as much as .025" difference. I have searched and can't find a spec so I can fix this problem and get things back where they should be. Thanks Lee

Welcome to the Forums!

Hmmmm. 0.025" is quite a bit, but the hydraulic lifters will soak up a lot. Either grind them for piece of mind, or let the design do its job. You probably won't notice it one bit.
