lb7 leaking fuel from cp3 i have a 01 lb7 it is leaking fuel from the finned cover that bolts to the front of the cp3. can this be fixed by replacing a gasket? what is behind the cover? will any thing fall or shoot out if i remove the 4 bolts?

also it leaks when i prime it as well as when its running. once its primed it will fire right up and run fine. after 15 -20 ml will go into limp mode if u shut it off for 10-15min fire it up and it resets it self. this is my first repair job to a diesel so its been down for 8-9 months just trying to find the exact source of the leak. now i found it not sure if i should pull the cp3 or just try to pull the cover (fix the leak)? any help will be greatly appreciatedhttp://www.mysmiley.net/imgs/smile/sign/sign0085.gifhttp://www.mysmiley.net/imgs/smile/sign/sign0085.gifhttp://www.mysmiley.net/imgs/smile/sign/sign0085.gifhttp://www.mysmiley.net/imgs/smile/sign/sign0085.gif

Given the age and likelihood of high miles plus the labor involved with R&R I would be inclined to replace it. We are well under $800 for a fresh Bosch reman.

My gosh, John! A friend from Ontario paid $3500.00+ (Canadian), last Summer for a CP3 change. I don't think I'm going to tell him, next Fall, when I see him back in Texas.

That's not including labor, but even with labor shouldn't be that bad.
