Check out this Corvette. 6.5 diesel with Banks turbo and Gear Vendors. On Ebay, item #4519032816. Set up for a veggie vehicle. Seller talks more about his movie career and Monster Garage similarities than about the 6.5 diesel.

The car and the owner both sound very strange. I think he was in the manic stage when the listing was written. He may hit the depressed stage when the high bid is less than 3K...

he mentions a couple of websites in the eBay answers section, the www.ecotrakker.com (http://www.ecotrekker.com/technology.htm)
looks the best with a couple intersting vehicles - one e-bike that might work for in town commuting

and a BMW roadster powered by '100% corn whiskey'(200 proof?) . . . his Biodiesel Hummer uses corn whiskey injection too! :D

Hmmmm....very interesting. I wouldn't dare bid on something like that without seeing the car in person. I think a diesel powered Corvette would be right up my alley, though! :D

Funny thing is, Seymour, MO is just a couple of hours from me. It's not a very big place, has a big Amish community. Doesn't sound like the kind of place to be making TV shows and such....

Did I read right 55mpg on Veggi oil?
Sounds real slick

My 1900# VW rabbit Pickup with a 4 cylinder 1.6 Liter engine can get 40 plus mpg. Hard to believe that a 6.5 Liter V-8 with a 3300# Corvette can get better mileage than the VW.

Do people really fall for these types of ads???

Based on the bids, I guess not!

Here are some of my favorite observations from his add:

I never knew a NA 6.5 with a banks was also known as a "tricked out" 6.5.

It's also nice to know that NA engines have higher compression than turbo'ed engines.

Why would someone install a turbo and not turn the fuel pressure up? Without more pressure, what good is a turbo?

I guess we all need Gear Vendor units so that we don't lose our boost because of the RPM loss during shifts. Somehow GV units maintain RPMs and boost while shifting.

Thanks to his "more stable turbo preformance", the engine doesn't have to work as hard.

"The intake fources out boost pressure and a waste gate is just that a waste of that boost presure." Huh? How does an intake force out boost pressure?

I won't even touch his "gassifier" system.

You can learn more about my work at these sites....

Those sites have NOTHING to do with his work. Based on his ad, I'd say he had nothing to do with this vett.......

It's interesting that they don't show ANY pictures of the engine, "gassifier", or any other mechanical feature of this vette.

Someone out there installed a 6.5 in a yellow vette and posted pictures of it here maybe 5 years ago. So, it's not the only one out there. Would be interesting to see it.....

Slagona,

It's not yellow, but is this the 'vette you're thinking of?

200 MPH in 660 feet?

I look down the street and see my buddy's half ton on the driveway about that far away, and don't even have to squint. 200 MPH?

I dunno, sounds somewhat fishy, although not certain from the ebay ad that that speed refers to this particular car, sounds too wild for me.

A nitomethane Top Fuel dragster putting out 7000-8000 HP will reach 200 MPH by about 600 feet and accelerate off the line at close to 8G's. Average G-force is about 4G for the run to reach 330 MPH by the

Casey,

Yes, that must be the Vette - this must be where the Ebay Vette got his figure of 55 mpg - only that's imperial gallons......

The yellow vehicle I was thinking of may have been a full sized chevy or caddie that someone converted.

Getting old - memory is shot....

Thanks for the link.

Well looks like owner thinks it is worth more than $6200.00.
