Lift Pump Sources

Lift pump failed after about 15k miles, year and a half (my 4th pump in 215000 miles). Local auto parts store had two brands, one a Delphi, both the same Manufacturer as the failed pump. Got them to get me a Delco Remy pump - turned out to be the same manufacturere as the others.

Anybody know if there is an alterntive source for a pump that lasts a bit longer? I have an old Delco Remy I keep for backup. Maybe I should install it next time and keep the 'new one' for backup.

Put a filter in before the pump. Also make sure the pump is getting good steady 12+V.
