New guy here. I an in the process of mounting a retired AT&T utility body to my '98 3500 reg. cab dually 4x4 diesel. Problem is the utility body only has one fuel filler port. Also i know the two tank system can cause stress with pumps senders ect. Can i remove the rear tank, pump and sender and still have a functional truck, fuel guage ect? Thanks!

Would the original tank be in the way? Could we get a picture of the AT+T transplant?

Hi
I have a 97 K3500.It has a wrecker body installed with a wheel lift. The rear tank was removed for the wheel lift,it takes up all the room from the rear tank.
When i bought the truck the fuel gauge didn't work and i was told to expect around 150 miles from the remaining tank.I carry a gerry can or two depending on my trip.I have run out a couple of times because of extended idle times between fill ups.I try to reset my odometer when i fill up.
So it's a bit of an unconvinced but the truck functions without the rear tank.
