During a 6.5 rebuild, when is the best time to install the one piece rear main seal?

I already have the crank in the block? Do you guys usually take the block off the engine stand to install the rear main seal?

Do you install the rear main seal dry or do you put some kind of sealant around it?

I'm assuming you don't have the 6.5 rear seal installation tool?
If not, I'll tell how I do them. Its still not the right way, but I haven't had a problem.
1. Loosen the rear main cap just enough that you can push the seal in by hand.
2. Install the seal making sure you get it in good, and square. (even all the way around) Do not use any lube on the outer part of the seal, as this can allow it to push out. Only lube the inner lip where it contacts the crank.
3. Re-torque the main cap.
I did my 6.5's rear seal this way, and its still nice, and dry, with 10k since rebuild.

Just my .02
