Hi, excuse my newbie post. I just bought a '94 Chevy 3500 dually with 111k actual miles. So far everything looks good except a leaky fuel line near the tank in back and the brakes need attention.

I am planning on scheduling a service with a local diesel shop. Is there anything I should have them check in particular with this year? Or anything I should have them do preventative maintenance wise?

I appreciate your response in advance.

Welcome to TDP :)

Normal fluid, filters, grease etc.

The one thing that comes to mind right off is to see if the PMD has been relocated out of the engine bay.

If it has not been, then consider an extension cable, fresh PMD and resistor along with a good heat sink and get the PMD down inside the bumper behind the front license plate.

Access through the nostrils in the bumper make this easy.

The PMD is the black box on the Injection pump, and are basically a consumable.

Carry a spare PMD with a number 5 resistor installed in the glove box.

Other than this item, just normal stuff.

May want to have the cooling system flushed good and refilled with fresh green juice and the cooling stack cleaned of bugs and debris between the various parts (condenser, radiator, oil coolers)

Good luck
