Hi gents, no replies in the trans forum, so trying here http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/confuzeld.gif

Is there a post or procedure for the 4L80E trans FULL flush, i want to manually do a full flush myself by unhooking the proper lines from trans to pump in new fluid and push out old fluid?

Also, my local shop says never use any fancy new fluids, just use plain old generic Dextron III fluid.

He uses Wolf's Head Dextron III
(bottle label = DX III-H/M ATF , Meets Dextron III-H/Mercon performance requirements )

Thanks

As I linked in your other thread, the procedure is the same for the 4L80E as is for any other (although the post was for the Allison tranny). You can either disconnect at the tranny (preferred), or at the cooler. Use engine idle to pump out the old fluid, and replace the fluid as necessary. Fill, start, idle, shutdown, fill, repeat.
