I have a 93 2500 with the 6.5 and the low coolant light is on. The truck doesn't overheat, heater works fine and the coolant level is fine.

The p/o changed the radiator (From one with a fill cap, to one without???) and claimed it just needed coolant.. Well, I added some into the overflow tank (as previously mentioned, said new radiator doesn't have a fill cap) and it didn't seem to change anything.

So where is the sensor located and if the coolant isn't low, What would cause this light come on? I know on my Taurus it was because the sensor got gonked up over the years.

I’m going to guess there is air trapped in the system. There is a bleeder valve on the thermostat housing.

I found a wire that was unplugged down near the battery box on the passenger side - But there isn't anywhere to connect it on the radiator.

You need the correct radiator and recovery tank. Guessing you have a recovery tank now with a pressure cap on it?

The single wire is all you get for the up to 93's.

Well, the previous owner left the old one in the bed, and it has a cap on it... The new one is closed loop.

Sucks when people put stuff in trucks that doesn't belong, you got a 1994+ radiator.

I mean, it works... But that low coolant light bugs me. Especially at night.
