I've been able to remove the headrests on every car I've owned for what, the last20 years or more ...?

So how do I get the front seat head-rests off my 2004 Silverado 3500?????

they extend upwards, but don't seem to have any 'button' to push to release them to remove completely
(trying to install seat covers)

Not stupid or funny, at all. What a let-down!

Not sure about the 04, but on my 01, the trim pieces between the rest and seat cover has a little hole on one side. Use a tool to insert there, depress the catch, and pull upward. I used a hex wrench, just under the size of the hole.

tiny holes, and of course, both legs have a catch so need three hands to get it off, but success in the end :-) cheers
