I had noticed diminished cold-starting over the past month or so. There seemed to be an increase of cranking needed to get the engine to start. I had to replace the starter and one battery cable recently. The engine was spinning over plenty fast, but taking a long time to "light off." When she did start, there was very little smoke, so I didn't suspect any glow plug issues. She started fine when warm.

I realized I had neglected to change the fuel filter when I meant to. So I installed a new filter and added a healthy dose of Power Service to the tank. After a few days, cranking time decreased, and now she starts quickly like I expect her to.

I just thought I would throw this out there for anyone who might be experiencing a hard to start issue. Be sure to keep up on fuel filter changes and keep those fuel additives flowing!
