I bought a 1994 K3500 6.5 diesel 5 Speed a couple years ago. It was not running and had electrical issues from front to back. The first thing I did was replaced the remove the pump and installed a DB2 pump. I wired everything up so the ECM was not needed and removed it from behind the glovebox. I noticed it had a #9 resistor in the PHD but I sold it. Before I threw out the ECM I pulled the chip out of it and I am wondering if there is a way to tell if it is OEM or aftemarket.
