Has anyone here had any experiance with having one of the cylinders sleved on a 6.5 block? Also have some minor nicks in the crank when it was taken apart before I got it. Can the crank be turned or just need to be polished?

The Project 6.5 (http://www.thedieselpage.com/finale.htm), had its #8 cylinder sleeved nearly 120,000 miles and 4-1/2 years ago. No problems with sleeves as long as they are installed by someone with a fair bit of experience.

Don't grind the crank. See if a polish will take care of it.

thanks I'm planning on taken the block and crank to the machine shop this week sometime. Where is the best place to come up with a good price on the rebuild parts. I've looked at a few places and the ring prices are really high.

Could try Northern Auto Parts, they have kits. Check the advertisers....rebuilders might be a good source, they know what works/doesn't.
Advise Not price shopping for rings, they are responsible for all compression/power every rotation--unless can get OEM supplier deal....
