Hello, will a 2000 style water pump {threaded on fan clutch}, fan clutch and 9 blade fan fit on a 95 K3500? Also is the 2000 style water pump the high flow pump? My truck runs hot while towing big enclosed trailer. I also have the dual Tstat water manifold to put on.

That should be no problem. 2000 is a HI FLOW

The engine blocks are pretty much the same all the way.

As long as you have the dual stats (you mentioned that) the parts should bolt right on.

Be sure the radiator is in good order.

These tend to "silt in" in the lower levels.

If your radiator has 100K miles or more on it then it is likely a big part of the issue.

Be sure the rest of the cooling stack is clean and free of crap between the units

(AC CONDENSER, OIL COOLERS ETC)

Having the bumper "nostrils" plugged or lights installed drastically alters airflow through the stack. JUST AN FYI

Good luck

I assume its the original radiator, truck has 200,000 miles on it. Is there anything I can do at home that will clean the inside of the radiator? I have read some stuff about taking the rad out and laying it down and filling it with CLR and water and leaving it soak a while. Does that really work?

I got the 2000 style water pump and fan on the truck today. I don't have the dual Tstats on yet. Inside of radiator and engine is all red from crud. I have water and two bottles of radiator flush in it, going to drive it a couple days and see if that cleans things up any.

If that flush doesn't work try generic UNSWEETENED Tea.

Sounds crazy but it worked for me a bunch of times.

Old Mother Earth method.

I installed dual TStats my 95, along with most of the other cooling mods. Nothing really made a difference until I put on the threaded pump with a restricted bypass orifice. With the dual stats, you need to be sure the bypass is the restricted type, i.e. smaller orifice. I went with 180 degree TStats. Many others think the 195s give better fuel economy. Maybe so. My dash guage indicates my engine runs at about 185, and I've NEVER seen it hit the center of the guage since I did the final mods. And the temp stays steady and the needle fluctuates very little.

Do I have to mod the belt tensioner bracket to install the dual Tstats? Is the bypass restriction in the pump or the Tstat housing?

Waiting for a upper radiator hose so I can put the dual Tstat setup on. Ran the radiator flush in it for 3 days, drained and flushed it today and put new antifreeze in. Its mid 80s and humid here today, took the truck up some good hills and stood on it climbing the hills, water temp went from 180 to 190 climbing the hills and right back to 180 on level road with the air going on high. I think it will be good after I get the dual Tstats on it.
