My 96 didnt come with a outside temp on the rear view mirror, so I bought a real nice one, I mounted the temp sensor in the A pillar. that didnt work so I mounted it on the B pillar buy the weatherstripping that too is effected but the engine heat also dont know where the best place for it? Just curious where GM installed theirs my wife has a 99 Tahoe with one and it seems very accurate.

The factory mounted the sensor to the center support in front of the radiator.

When I upgraded my rear-view mirror, I clipped the sensor to the opening of the horn that is mounted on the center support.

Interesting. I figured it had to be in the grill area. When I put on my cold winter front my temp gauge reads about 10 degrees warmer.
