I had replaced the original plugs with Delco AC60s. All were torqued to spec.

The engine's been hard to start, so checking the glow plugs, I found several with the spade terminals broken off, so I ordered a set of Kennedy's.

Today, I tried to change out the plugs, but after loosening the first one, the head would turn, but the plug would not come out. The second was hard to turn, so I quit.

I suspect the shaft has sheared.

Any suggestions?

Howdy
If the head is turning and you cant remove it then most likely the tip has swelled and will not pass the hole. Once this happens there are several methods of removal, none are really easy. Do a search for swelled glow plugs or something like that.
Good luck!

It would not back out at all - if the head were swollen, it should back off a bit. And these are AC60s, which AFAIK have not had that issue.

It should be OK to run it - down to my local shop.
