Detroit Diesel 6V53T

Can anyone recommend any publications to read regarding 6V53T series engines. I am car hot rod guy, but I love the sound of these old 2 diesel strokes and would like learn more about them and how to rebuild.

Any suggestions?

you will need to find yourself a old school diesel tech that knows how to adjust the rack correctly so it doesn't gallop at idle.
