I have a 1983 Suburban that I swapped in a 2002 6.5 Crate engine. Currently, I have the stock oil pressure sending unit at the back of the head. Where is the location of the stock 6.5 oil pressure sending unit? It came with my engine but I didn't use it at the time and apparently blocked the hole with a plug. I just can't remember where. thanks.

It's behind the d/s head.....

The late 6.5 has two oil pressure ports, one is located in the same place as the 6.2 (BACK OF BLOCK CLOSE TO LH HEAD) AND THE OTHER IS NEAR THE MIDDLE OF THE VALLEY SLIGHTLY BEHIND THE IP

The 6.2 and 6.5 are nearly identical on the exterior and pretty much a full drop in with no issues.

The 6.5 you have will have METRIC BELL HOUSING BOLTS
The 3/8 stock ones will thread in but DON'T USE THEM.

The metric bolts are IIRC a 10 mm x 1.5mm Thread

The nice washer headed bolts are a good upgrade if you can find them.

I got some at ACE HARDWARE that were plated when I did the last swap.

Good luck :):)

Howdy
If you use the port in the valley, install your sensor before you install the manifold. It's a real PITA with the manifold on. Or make a flexible extension to the port so you have easy access to the oil pressure.
Good luck
