Lately I've been having an intermittment problem with the truck getting no boost until I drive it a few miles. It's almost like the system "wakes up" and says, oh yeah this is a turbo. Once it starts working it seems to provide boost fine, it's just sometimes it takes a while to start doing so. I've checked the vacuum pump - about 21" mercury is getting to the wastegate. I've also replaced the boost solenoid.

Anyone know a way to test the boost sensor on top of the intake manifold or any other thoughts.

Thanks in advance. Joe.

These boost sensors seem to last a long time with little or no trouble. The way to go is replace it with an aftermarket one. Put a boost guage in the cab to really see what's going on first. The vacuum pump readings seem good and with the new solenoid, the only thing left is the computer dumping the boost before it should. If the other stuff quit first, then the MIL would come on.
