1996 GMC Suburban K2500 – ¾ Ton 6.5 Diesel 4WD SLT
3.73 Gears

NOT CURRENTLY DRIVABLE. Engine will start and run but is knocking. Suspect a main thrust bearing is failing.

This truck has had many many upgrades through the years:

Phazer timing gears
Fluiddampr harmonic balancer
Upgraded to dual thermostats and Kennedy HD fan/ clutch
AFE air intake
Heath Max E Torgue ECU upgrade
Heath PMD Isolator
Health Turbo Master
Air Pump bypassed
Racor remote mounted fuel filter/water separator
Remote mounted Amsoil dual oil filter bypass system
4 inch exhaust system from downpipe back including Heath crossover pipe

Bilstein shocks
Later model HD wheels
HD slotted cryo treated Brake rotors

Pillar 3-gauge setup
Upgraded stereo with small amp and sub

Body is in pretty good condition. NO RUST. There are a few small dings here and there and the clear coat on the roof is starting to fail but overall the paint still looks good. Interior has wear and tear as expected – especially the front seats. 2nd and 3rd row seats are still in pretty good condition.

This was a great vehicle for our family and served us well for many years. Lots of power and towed our 26ft camper all over the place with no problems. Mileage was decent as well. Transmission and 4WD are still fully functional. I have a lot of time, money, and sweat in this truck and wish I had the time to repair. A good used short-block and it should be good to go.

This page has been a huge help to me over the years and would love for a fellow 6.5 enthusiast to keep this one going.
