I am wondering how rare factory 6.5 diesel suvs are as I have two and am curious what they are worth the first one is a 1994 Chevy suburban 4 door 3/4 tonne little to no rust 300 000 km 187 500 miles runs great and the other is a 1998 Chevy Tahoe sport (2 door) fully loaded push button 4

Hi

The Suburbans with the 6.5 were not really rare, but the 2 door Tahoe with the 6.5 was not seen all that much.

Value is based on condition and miles on the clock.

Kelley blue book is a good yard stick.

The 6.5 is not a highly sought after item, but the 2 door Hoe is.

As Robyn stated, there are (were) lots of 6.5L Suburbans, but the 2 door Tahoe/Yukon/Blazer 6.5L models are not as common. I get people asking about mine all the time. Went camping over Labor Day weekend, and two other campers came by to talk about the rig. Most folks usually wonder if it's a factory diesel.

I see a number of the Suburbans on craigslist, so they're definitely out there. I don't see many of the two-doors - diesel or gas. I like mine.

The holy grail is a manual 6.5TD two-door. I've seen a couple people who have swapped in a manual trans and I've seen gas versions with the manual, but I'm not sure if the 6.5TD manual combo were available from the factory.

Did yours come with that front bumper or did you swap it? The OEM bumper should have had the two air intake holes.

Both the Yukon and the K2500 were bought used, so I'm not sure of the history for either one, but neither one had the "two hole" bumper on the front. Browsing craigslist, I see quite a few diesels with solid bumpers.
