I bought a 1981 3-71 Detroit Diesel 75 KW Genset last year, I was told it ran until they stopped using it. I am going to try and get it running, but I have a couple questions. I will try to attach a few pictures. There is a fitting coming out of the head a little back of the air intake. I am guessing it is a fuel line connector that might be a return line back to the fuel tank. It is also missing the Oil dipstick and sleeve, which I will need to find a replacement. Another question I have is if I do get it started and I need to shut it off quickly how is the best way to do that? It does not have any linkage from the governor to the control panel.
