HI

Classic PMD failure.

When was the PMD last replaced ???

I suggest you get a new flight systems PMD and a remote cooler and extension cable.

Also install a #5 pmd resistor

Its nearly impossible to see which resistor is installed in the current pmd UNLESS it is remote mounted....

A little careful fishing can coax the plug off the PMD (Black box on Drivers side of the INJECTION PUMP)
Resistor goes into the PMD plug socket on the PMD and will only fit one way.

Be sure to mount the remote cooler in a spot out of the engine bay that has air flow.

The failure you describe is/was a common issue on the electronic 6.5

Good luck

Let us know how things go.

This sure does sound like a FSD failure. However, if you just had a new injection pump installed as you say, it should have come with a new FSD mounted on the pump. Are you using the FSD on the pump or are you using a remote mounted one?

One other thing to check: Make sure the lift pump is working.

pmd was replaced shortly after injection pump as a result of it dying when it gets to running temp

its a non turbo 6.5 if that makes a difference

Does it have any codes stored?

When it dies, can you restart it? If not, what has to happen before it will run again?

Does it die at exactly the same temperature every time?

What kind of PMD and where is it mounted?
It is an easy switch to rule it out. I had a new PMD take a dump after very little actual use,the truck would sit for weeks without being used. It was remote mounted.

not showing any codes it will die and wont start for hours untill it cools down usually over night

it runs great starts easy drives fine until it gets to running temp it will stall and not start untill it cools off machiniac has been through it with a volt meter a few times everything is reading like it should
