throttle issue

Hey guys my ol' 6.5 developed an issue the other day that I can not figure out ..... on cold start it revs full throttle ..... I have changed fuel/water seperator/filter, my PMD is remote mounted on bumper , changed PMD ..... and I am now at a loss ....... I did run out of fuel a couple of weeks ago but poured a jerry can of fuel in and primed system and it ran good til the other day ....... any help greatly appreciated

A stuck fuel solenoid valve will cause this. If that's the problem, you need a new injection pump.

I've seen PMD's do that. Is the PMD new or used?

Also if the metering in the pump sticks it can do this. The fuel systems on these trucks are not overly particular about fuel in that they don't show signs until its too late. They need additive to survive.
