My A/C control seems to have a short in it....if you wiggle or touch the fan knob on the left the recirc and a/c buttons will flicker on and each time it does this the compressor kicks off and on. Also, with the a/c off those same buttons will flicker randomly engaging the clutch. Have been looking for a replacement but the ACDelco one listed for my model is NLA. The '95 seems to be an oddball sometimes when trying to find parts....trying to stick with ACDelco and not aftermarket. From what I have found the '96 thru 2000 models use the same part number, the one w/o rear defogger. Does anybody know if these later model controls can be used on a '95?

Go to ebay

1995 Chevy pickup AC control....several listed

Ebay is my first choice for parts in many cases.....either that or head to the bone yard (UPULLIT)

Good luck

If you have a U PULLIT close it should be cheaper than Ebay

Yeah...the $90 and up seemed a bit steep for used stuff.

The bone yards are usually pretty decent

Robyn, correct me if I'm wrong.....but I have spent HOURS searching online for A/C controls for this 1995....and it appears that the '95 was a one-year wonder in that it had different connectors and wiring for the control panel for that year only. The 1996-2000 controls look the same but require a special adapter harness in order to work on a '95, or you would have to make your own harness by finding the correct connectors and looking at wiring diagrams and figuring it all out. This "mystery" harness is nowhere to be found either, as far as I can tell.

The 95 was a transition year truck

The 95 had the updated dash panel (From the 92-94 style)

But the 95 was an OBD1 electrical system..

96 on was OBD2..

I am not sure that the HVAC controller is 95 only.

In looking at Rockauto and a few others they seem to fit several years in there.

Standard motor products make a replacement.

Pull yours out and snap some pix of the plug in the back...

There area couple different types depending on if you have rear window defogger....

Head to the bone yard and see whatcha can find.

Match up the connector types with yours.

Good luck

Stumbled upon this thread at GMT-400 forum while mindlessly searching the interwebs: Hope I did that right so the link works.....

It worked! Lol Those guys were dealing with the same issue I am. Thought it was an interesting read. Since I haven't pulled mine out yet I will do that this week and see what the connectors look like, then go from there. BTW....the SMP unit that Rockauto says fits a '95.....if you check the SMP site it says it does not fit, but lists some connectors as "related products"....I am guessing one would use these connectors to wire it up somehow. IDK
