Brought home a new member of the herd
Laying bed one morning and my girlfriend shows me the car that had just been posted for sale,we contact them and ask them to hold it for 3 hours while we drive to go get it.
Having a rollback is awesome,you don't care if they have wheels or turn.
This one had air in the tires and the brakes work

The one thing i really liked was the car is unmolested,no hole in the dash for a cd player/cassette player
The engine has been rebuilt,interior is in very nice shape.
All the chrome and hubcaps are there.
First plan is to get it running for July 1 parade,one guy in town has a 53 4 door that his dad bought new.He fried the clutch on the last pre covid parade so i challenged him to a race to the parade.
In it's journey it was briefly in the scrap yard where they squished the gas tank with a fork,when i pulled it up the deck it started leaking on the angle,gas smelled good so i think getting it running will be a task that is possible.The brakes work that was a real bonus.Even the ebrake works and releases.

I drag enough home with a pickup and trailer... A rollback would just be asking for trouble! :rolleyes:

First 19 years of my shop it was with just a wheel lift/sling truck and i managed to fill my yard
A rollback would have filled it sooner.
I got into renting and selling 20ft containers,it's a must for containers
5 years after i got the rollback my X left the territory,kinda wish i had got it sooner now looking back:cool:

Great project car. One of the first cars I learned to drive was a 53 2 door. Straight six and three on the tree (if you remember that you're showing your age). Up to 50 mph ran true and smooth. At 55 the front end would start to shimmy and the car would head for the ditch. Not for the faint of heart. Never could figure out the issue but kept my brother and me down to a safe speed. Still believe Dad wanted it that way :rolleyes:.

In my 1950 Ford Custom Convertible with the Continental tire kit, it was bad king pin bushings. (if you remember that you're showing your age!)

My plan is to get it running,check it's drive train out.
It looks like a lot of work done to the front end,new parts 30 years ago type work. Then sat in a shop for years after.
It needs a good cleaning to stop any rust issues from getting worse,like the trunk has dirt build up in lots of areas,all along the back of it the tin has rusted out,only because the dirt holds moisture.It needs a good cleaning underneath as well it still has mud from the Yukon's dirt roads days.
I have whats left of a 30's Plymouth businessman's coupe that will get the hot-rod/rat-rod treatment Nothing left of the frame it was butchered up to make it a gasser.The body is all there no glass nothing is put together just a pile of old body parts looking for a new life.
That one i have been considering a diesel for,now that i pay for carbon i thought seeing it would be OK
