Anyone here that tows have a preference on brakes pads. Avalanche got brakes installed when we bought the truck but by the looks of them, probably made by the who-flung-dung company. Towing 7,000 lb travel trailer and need something a little more aggressive in case the trailer brakes go south.

I got a Power Stop kit from Rock Auto for my Tahoe last year. It came with a set of brake pads and a pair of slotted and dimpled rotors. I've been really happy with the performance and stopping ability.

I've also heard great things about EBC Brakes.

I imagine the road departments in Ontario salt the roads in the winter, like they do in the northern tier of the US. Look for brake components that advertise some resistance to rust/corrosion.
