Hello. My name is Peter and I'm a man with a broken diesel. I don't know much about diesels so this is going to be a learning experience for me. So off I go to the 6.5 pages to find help. Thanks for having me and thanks for the forum.

Water in the oil. It has been in storage for a number of years. I would like to drop in a new/rebuilt 6.5 engine. I'm just not sure how to go about doing this. My truck engine has 260,000Km.

Research your source for a rebuilt engine well, there are a lot of bad re-builders out there
There are some great options for a good engine, but they cost a few bucks

I would only trust a brand new AMG GEP Optimizer, such as this:

There aren't any rebuilders that I trust. They usually cut too many corners.
The other option would be to rebuild your current engine, depending on what is actually wrong. I would suggest pulling it out and pulling it apart to determine exactly what is wrong, and then make a determination what to do after that.
